This policy explains what personal information Bricks & Fur Art Studio collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” means Ade Leake trading as Art by Leake, 61 St Thomas Way, Hawksyard, Rugeley WS15 1RA, who is responsible for your information (the “data controller”).
If you have any questions, email sales@bricksandfurartstudio.com.
What we collect and why
When you buy a print or book an event
We collect your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, and order details. We use these to process your order, deliver your print or book your place, send you order and booking emails, and keep the financial records the law requires. The legal basis is that we need it to fulfil our contract with you, and to meet our legal obligations (for example, tax records).
When you send an enquiry
Through our commission, mural, party, team-building or contact forms, we collect your name, email, and anything you choose to tell us (phone number, dates, details of your enquiry). We use this to reply and, if you go ahead, to plan your commission or event. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry, or taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Enquiries are stored in our website’s admin area and sent to our email inbox.
When you join the mailing list
We collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name, plus the date, time and IP address you signed up (as a record of your consent). We use this to send you news about new prints, event dates and our work. The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
When you browse the site
Like most websites, our host’s servers automatically log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
We also measure how the site is used, so we can improve it:
- Burst Statistics runs on our own website, so the visit data stays with us and isn’t shared with anyone else. It records things like which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from, without identifying you.
- Google Analytics gives us more detailed reports. It only runs if you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent, and you can change your mind at any time.
See our Cookie policy for more about cookies.
We don’t sell your information, and we never use it for anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect.
Who we share it with
We only share what’s needed with trusted services that help us run the business:
- Stripe processes card payments. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our website. Stripe’s privacy policy: stripe.com/gb/privacy
- MailerLite stores our mailing list and sends our newsletters. Their privacy policy: mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Krystal Hosting hosts this website on servers in the UK.
- Google Workspace provides our email.
- Delivery companies e.g. Royal Mail, receive your name and address to deliver prints.
- Google Analytics (Google) helps us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular. It only runs if you accept analytics cookies. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it.
Some of these services may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use approved safeguards such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Orders and bookings: 6 years after the end of the financial year, as required for tax records.
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. We may remove people who haven’t opened an email for a long time.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your information (unless we have to keep it by law, e.g. tax records)
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the mailing list)
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
To do any of these, email sales@bricksandfurartstudio.com. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
